Hannah Dodd is now in Milan, for the italian fashion week. Yesterday, Setpember 20, she attended Gucci fashion show. She was seen arriving at the event and then front row on the show with her Bridgerton co-star Nicola Coughlan, as weel as Daisy Edgar-Jones and Dakota Johnson.

Hannah Dodd is still in the English capital, attending another show during this London fashion week. Yesterday, September 16, she went to Burberry Summer 2025 fashion show and was seen arriving and inside the event.

Harper’s BAZAAR — Hannah Dodd is just warming up

For much of her life, dancing filled the dreams of English rose Hannah Dodd. That was until a modelling job spawned an acting career that caught fire when she joined the cast of the juggernaut that is ‘Bridgerton’. A severe bout of stage fright behind her, she is now set to explore the limits of her talent.

It was not long into the filming of the latest series of Bridgerton when the new girl on set became distressed. Preparing for the scene in which her debutante character is presented to the queen, Hannah Dodd felt weeks of anxiety boil over. Could she do this? Could she go on?

This was July 2022. Just two months earlier, landing a role on Shondaland’s zeitgeist Netflix series had seemed like the gift of a lifetime to the unassuming English actor. The first two seasons of the lavish, history-bending Regency-era romantic drama had garnered huge audiences and turned its leads into stars. On learning she would be taking over the part of Francesca Bridgerton, Dodd had gone straight to work, perusing the Julia Quinn novels on which the series is based and learning piano, one of Francesca’s more conspicuous skills.

By the time filming started, however, the insidious process that converts excitement into crippling self-doubt had done its thing. And on this day — when her alter ego was to be paraded before Queen Charlotte, judged and appraised less as a sensitive young woman than an object — the newcomer unravelled. “I’d been so nervous for so long, and I think I’d hit the point where I couldn’t actually sustain feeling like that,” Dodd says.

Fortunately, the Bridgerton cast and crew are, by all accounts, a supportive bunch, and Dodd’s turmoil did not go unnoticed. Picking her moment, one of the producers approached her and suggested they take a stroll.

“She said to me, ‘To us, this is still the tiny little show we were making back in 2019, and it’s the same people’,” Dodd recalls.

As a former student of the London Studio Centre, Hannah Dodd went to this year’s graduation last Sunday. She was the one delivering the graduates their diplomas, and stayed on stage afterward to take photos with the 2023-2024 promotion.

Today, Hannah Dodd went to the Wimbledon Tennis Championship in a Ralph Lauren yellow dress. She was later seen in the attendance of a tennis game, with her mother Sue. In the evening, Hannah attended an event hosted by Ralph Lauren and British Vogue.

HUNGER — Get a sneak peak of our cover story with Hannah Dodd, where the new face of ‘Bridgerton’ opens up about her artistic journey from dance to acting and the thrill of joining the beloved Netflix series as Francesca.

Hannah Dodd is quickly becoming a name to watch in the entertainment industry. The 29-year-old actor grew up in Leavenheath, a village on the Essex-Suffolk border, and started acting professionally straight after graduating from the London Studio Centre, where she trained in ballet, contemporary jazz and musical theatre. It was acting that was Dodd’s true calling, though. After leaving school, she was awarded a role in the teen sci-fi fantasy drama Find Me in Paris. Now you’ll recognise the rising British star from shows like Anatomy of a Scandal, films like Enola Holmes 2 and juggernauts like Bridgerton.

Her new role in the third series of everyone’s favourite period drama is her most prominent to date. She plays Francesca Bridgerton in the Netflix show, having taken over the part from Ruby Stokes – and it’s fair to say that people had been awaiting Dodd’s rendition of the regency socialite with bated breath.

Jordan Rossi: You’re playing Francesca Bridgerton in the latest series of Bridgerton. How does it feel to join such a renowned series and how would you describe your character?

Hannah Dodd: Bloomin’ terrifying! But I’m so grateful to have been able to join such a loved show, and I’m so thankful to the cast for welcoming me. Francesca is making her society debut this season, but she’s slightly more introverted than her Bridgerton siblings – she avoids the spotlight at all costs. But we get to know her so much more as the season progresses. I really hope audiences enjoy Frannie as much as I do.

JR: What initially sparked your interest in acting and when did you decide to pursue it as a career?

HD: Honestly, I didn’t really. All I ever wanted to do as a kid was dance. I’d grown up watching a lot of old Hollywood musicals and my school had incredible performing arts teachers. I got involved in shows as often as I could. I did study acting and musical theatre throughout school, but I very much boxed myself in as a dancer. My first job out of dance college was playing a ballerina and I fell in love with set life and being part of a crew with all their individual jobs and skills to help tell a story. I think storytelling was something that had been a real passion within dance for me too. I just kept auditioning and I never looked back.

Last night, Hannah Dodd attended a private dinner held by Gucci in honor of Jannik Sinner at Mount St. Restaurant in London. She was seen arriving at the event and then inside. A portrait by Indigo Lewin also has been released.
